Getting Through Difficult Situations
Managing Transition and Unwanted Change; Maintaining Your Power and Prerogative Sometimes, we are presented with unwanted events and circumstances that we did not create. A good example of this is a major workplace transition, such as a change in management, workplace restructuring and downsizing or job loss. An example in another arena of life may consist of an illness or diagnosis of a chronic disorder. This is a general set of guidelines to help us find ways to adjust, cope and function well in the face of such challenging changes. Recognize that you are in the situation; not of it: Do not internalize the negative change or allow it to define you.
